With the recent overheating debacles, many of you who bought GIGABYTE GTX 10 series graphics cards may be also curious about what exactly it is like below the heat sink of your cards and whether the internal components are adequately cooled. To answer to your requests, we summoned all of our GTX 1080, GTX 1070, and GTX 1060 graphics cards and had the heat sinks removed for a full-scale showcase, providing a close look at the cards’ internals to satisfy your curiosity at once.
Below we laid out photos of our GTX 10 series fleet with their respective heat sinks removed, starting from the high-end models, to present a complete overview of our cooling solution.
Across the board, the critical components of the graphics cards, such as video memory, chokes, and MOSFET, are applied with thermal pads. On top of which, the thermal pads allow those heat-generating components being in contact with the main cooler for an active, more efficient cooling together with the GPU.
